Twin Chimneys House
New York, USA
Lang Architecture
Twin Chimneys House resides at the edge of Kenoza Lake in upstate New York. While the exterior expression is a gentle nod to simple cabin architecture seen in the area, the Japandi interior offers a refined environment to connect with nature.
The quiet and restrained interior was the main inspiration for the compositional choices of the project, with a formal approach emphasizing the carefully considered architectural moves, but with the ever-present lake and surrounding forest offering a serene backdrop to daily life in the home.
Many of the furniture pieces chosen by the client were antique and or one-offs, and were custom modeled by our studio from photo-references.
